Just about every night since October, I've woken up in the middle of the night. Many nights I'm up for thirty minutes, sometimes as long as an hour. At first it happened consistently around 3:00 or 3:30 every night but now it's pretty random — last night it was 1:30. I don't know what's causing it, but whatever it is, I don't like it.
A side effect of this is I'm tired every evening and a good portion of the day. Bedtime for me has shifted to 11:00, sometimes earlier. I used to be able to at least make it through Letterman's Top Ten List every night. Now, I'm often out before the monologue. I miss Dave.
There's a rumor going around this house that I snore. I have no way to verify this and would rather take it on faith than try to confirm it. But, snoring is a sign of sleep apnea, as are the other things I've mentioned. I don't fit the typical profile of someone with sleep apnea, but on the other hand, I'm not well-educated on such things (even with the help of Wikipedia). Perhaps something to leave to the professionals, then... though I'm also open to other suggestions.
