Choosing a side

As previously established, I've had my eyes on the HTC Inspire over the last few weeks. AT&T emailed Martha a coupon (which she in turn emailed to me) with a $50 off offer on many different phones. The Inspire was one of those — so I now have a sweet new phone.

Android For some reason, I hate that this is such a big deal. The world is indeed moving in the direction of everyone having a phone, though, so it's not a trivial decision. Just about everywhere I go, people are sitting in front of their own personal screens texting friends or browsing Facebook or playing Angry Birds or something. If you're going to spend lots of time this way, picking the right device, OS, and so forth is pretty damned important.

I've made my choice. I'm an Android guy, and as of now, I guess I'm an HTC guy too. This phone is fantastic. I'm not going to make this into a fanboy thing or anything like that, it's just the right choice for me.

Polaroid wind chimes I am going to share a picture I took, though. The phone has an eight megapixel camera and a ton of nifty effects you can apply, including some which are pretty close to the Hipstamatic app on the iPhone everybody was messing with last summer. I still like the way those pictures look even if they aren't in vogue anymore, so here's a picture of some wind chimes on the front porch. Nothing I put a lot of thought into, just a test picture with a filter. I think it turned out pretty well for a quickie.
